“Partners in Education” involves the pairing of LGE Community Credit Union with a local school(s). The Credit Union provides the school with volunteer support, extra funding, or unique services to match the school’s needs.
Operation Donation is our annual holiday project, whereby LGE employees form teams and work together to make a difference in their respective communities. Most groups elect to host a variety of fundraising initiatives such as bake sales, raffles, garage sales and auctions and then make a monetary contribution to the philanthropy(s) of their choice. Enthusiasm for this tradition grows stronger every year and credit union management displays its commitment to the initiative by matching the funds raised, allowing the teams to stretch their efforts twice as far.
The project culminates at our annual employee Christmas breakfast, where a spokesperson for each team shares what they did with their funds and the experiences they encountered along the way. Needless to say, that morning always brings a mix of emotions as employees listen to the heartbreaking stories of those who have fallen on hard times and of the relief their coworkers were able to give.
In addition to the various charities which we actively participate in throughout the year, we also make charitable contributions throughout the community. |
